2016 National Championship Tournament
Greenville, South Carolina • April 2016
UnAfter making it through the annual Regionals and Opening Round Championships gauntlet, Team 1195 advanced to the Bell Tower Championship, held this past weekend in Greenville, South Carolina.
The National Championship brings together the final 48 teams from the nearly 700 that begin the season. This year--like last season--a brand new case was released specifically for use at the Championship. The Huskies had a strong showing. After splitting the opening round against Cornell University, the Huskies dropped a tight round against perennial powerhouse NYU. The Dawgs quickly bounced back with a decisive victory against Boston University, and closed out the season with a split decision against University of Richmond. Even though the mockers didn't walk away with a trophy, they gained valuable experience and had four great rounds upon which to hang their hats. The four freshman and sophomore members will use this as a foundation for next year's campaign, while the two graduating members of the team--Taylor Deardorff and AJ Lupinski--can look back on this performance fondly.
