Team 1277 escaped Seattle's wintry weather by flying to Los Angeles, California, for UCLA's Sunset Strip Invitational Classic (UCLASSIC), a tournament boasting some of the best programs from across the country. The UW students split with the A teams from Miami and Southern Cal, dropped two ballots to perennial powerhouse UCLA, and took both ballots from Arizona State. Team 1277 finished the competition with a 4-4 record, tying for 11th place out of 38 teams.
